Sana's AI Tutor is like having the world's best teacher and personal coach in your pocket, bringing one of the most effective learning methods, one-on-one tutoring, to scale. Every learner is empowered with a personal AI Tutor, an omnipresent companion adapted for learning.

While seamlessly supporting learners through self-paced Sana native courses, the AI Tutor can:

  • Adapt to learners' individual goals and needs

  • Help learners rehearse skills and act on feedback

  • Break down complex information into bitesize chunks

  • Provide real-time answers, any time

  • Spark learners' curiosity by relaying them to further learning material

How does the AI Tutor work?

The AI Tutor uses a multi-layered approach to analyze your questions, gather relevant course material, and consider your progress before crafting a response. Using reasoning logic, it ensures it has enough context to answer accurately, always basing its answers on your specific course content, objectives, and learning journey, never on generic information.

Where can learners find the AI Tutor?

Positioned in the bottom right corner of self-paced course pages, it remains readily available to provide assistance whenever needed.

Inside courses, the tutor takes the course as its context (similar to the Q&A card). Its functionalities include:

  • Smart suggestions – The tutor proactively suggests questions based on the learner’s current position in the course.

  • Instant course support – Learners can ask questions about the course, and the tutor will provide relevant answers.

  • Text explanations – Learners can highlight text in the course to receive clarifications and deeper insights.

  • Encouragement and motivation – The tutor keeps learners engaged with supportive contextual prompts.

Interactive tools

The tutor uses a number of interactive tools to personalize learning:

  • Quizzes help reinforce understanding and improve retention

  • "Reason together" engages the learner in a Socratic reasoning exercise

  • Concrete examples help learners apply new knowledge to real-world scenarios

  • It can also answer questions about uploaded videos, narration and images

By aligning with course learning outcomes, the tutor ensures a more engaging and effective learning experience.
