This guide will help you explore the different ways of utilizing AI when creating content in Sana! Discover how to streamline your content creation process with AI, and learn how to quickly produce engaging, personalized content that enhances learning experiences and saves you time.

1. Text Completion

When starting to write text, the AI will continue to write an appropriate suggestion for finishing the sentence, based on context of the sentence and the paragraph. You can choose to accept the greyed out text by pressing tab. Easy as that!

2. The AI assistant in Create

The AI writing assistant in Sana helps with writing summaries, auto-completing texts, and brainstorming ideas. It enhances content creation by providing options like custom AI instructions, continue writing, summarizing, brainstorming, and image generation.

Where do I find the AI assistant?

The assistant is always at your hand in the editor - You can see it either by simply creating a new text block on a card or highlighting any text.

AI Assistant options in Create

Custom AI instructions

Helps you prompt instructions to the AI and rewrite the text in the best possible way. It’s a flexible and powerful way to make sure you are in control and more satisfied with the outcome. Either write a prompt directly or highlight any text that you want to rewrite!

Continue writing

Do you have a subject, sentence or paragraph but not sure how to proceed?
Don’t worry! You are only one click away from receiving a suggestion.

Summarize

Sometimes it can be hard to extract the key information from a large text, or simply time consuming. Why not let AI help you with that?

Brainstorm

No need to brainstorm solo! AI brainstorms ideas for you using the information prior to the text block.

Add an image

AI selects a stock image that is relevant to the content of the card, to help you ensure relevance to the course material.

Generate an image

AI generates an image relevant to the content of the card, saving time searching for appropriate images.

💡 You can in choose to highlight a sentence, paragraph or refer to all text when using the AI assistant, but the more information you give, the more context the AI have to work with to ensure results in line with expectations

3. Generate content with AI

Generate from file

Save time and maximize resources by letting AI transform your existing PDFs into interactive Sana courses in a matter of minutes. It also allows for customization, where you can edit and tailor the courses post-generation to make sure the content is optimized for your learners.

In the editor:

  1. Click the arrow next to the Add card button in the bottom left, then click Generate from file

  2. Drag and drop your PDF or click Browse files to choose your file and the assistant will begin generating the course

Generate Images

Generating images provides visually appealing content, ensures relevance to the course material and saves time searching for appropriate images.

You can use it:

  • Directly in your content with the AI assistant button (as explained above)
    or

  • Open any image modal (image blocks, cards, or course images) and select the “generate” option. Write your prompt, choose a style, then pick your favorite!

If you open the image modal again, you’ll find the historical images you generated before to use again.

Generate Takeaway

To generate a takeaway in your content, follow these simple steps:

  • Type '/generate takeaways' or '/' and choose 'Generate takeaways' in a new paragraph within your content.

  • The AI will analyze the preceding text on the same card to generate a relevant and insightful takeaway

💡 The AI considers only the text that comes before the takeaway as context, excluding any text that follows it. This ensures that the generated takeaway is based on the correct information.

Generate Questions

Question Block within a Page Card
Similar to takeaways, the context for a question block encompasses all text on the same card that precedes the question. Any text following the question block is not considered part of the context.

Question Card
The context AI uses for a question card includes all preceding cards within the same module.

Generate Poll

There are three types of polls you can generate, depending on their placement within a module and the type of information you want to gather. For example, an introductory poll offers insight into how learners feel about something before engaging with the respective content.

Check-in Poll: The context AI uses includes all cards that precede and succeed the poll card within the same module.

Introductory Poll: The context AI uses includes all cards that succeed the poll card within the same module.

Reflective Poll: The context AI uses includes all cards that precede the poll card within the same module.

Generate Assessment

The context AI uses is always up until the previous question. Therefore, the assessment would only consider the card immediately before it. If you remove the questions that come between the cards, you can generate questions based on all the content. One trick is to temporarily move the questions into a separate folder while generating assessment questions, and then move them back to their correct positions. On a side note, we will be improving how easy it is to understand which context is being used for question generation.

Generate Course description

Course description generation is a feature within Sana AI that helps you create concise and informative descriptions of your educational courses. This feature:

  • Utilizes AI to analyze your course content and extract key themes and topics

  • Offers suggestions for clear and appealing language that resonates with your target audience

4. Translations

The translation feature in Sana enables quick conversion of courses into different languages, broadening the accessibility and reach of the content.

In the editor view

  1. Go to the 3 dot menu in the top right

  2. Click Translate

  3. Choose language and click Duplicate
